It might be a stressful week at work, a bad grade in school or not winning a big game, but some days are tougher than others. But no matter what, sometimes all it takes is a small act of kindness to turn a bad day around. For me, something that can always cheer me up is a delicious treat. Cupcakes, brownies, cookies – you name it – I love it!
So, when someone close to me is down in the dumps, I do my best to make them feel better the best way I know how – with tasty goodies! And, I have a secret weapon – the bakery department at my local grocery store. It’s the perfect place to stop in, pick up something delicious, and use my creative side (or an idea from Pinterest) to wrap the treat with a personal touch! Even with a crazy, busy schedule, it’s a thoughtful – and easy – gesture that can turn someone’s day around.
To get started, I visit Pinterest for some gifting inspiration. Even though I think I’m pretty creative, Pinterest has so many easy and adorable ideas for inspiration. One of my favorite Pinterest pages is Give Bakery Because – it has so many cute ideas for gifting baked goods.
Once I’ve nailed down my idea, I stop by the bakery department in the grocery store and pick up something sweet. Then, I pick out the materials to dress up the treats. You can use anything from craft boxes to doilies, and can even add extra goodies such as candies or icing to the treats to really spice things up. Finally, I go home and put it all together.
One really cute idea I recently saw totally transformed “Whoopie Pies” into fun little monsters – all with supplies from the grocery store! This goofy, sweet snack is a no-fail way to brighten anybody’s day!
