My little princess turned 4 this week and I held her birthday party at My Gym Children’s Fitness Center in Stony Brook. My Gym has a few different party packages. We chose the Deluxe Celebration. A few days before the party, I received a phone call from one of the birthday party specialists to make sure they had all the details they needed for the party. We chose to do a “Frozen” theme with the music and games that would be played at the party. They went over how many guests there would be, the average age of the kids, and they asked me if there were any specific games or activities I wanted. I showed up today, about 15 minutes before the party started, and the tables were all set up and ready to go. I brought my own cake, and goody bags, but I could have ordered the bags through them..they have 2 different options.
When the guests started to arrive, they were asked to sign in. As long as they left their phone number, they should get a call sometime this week asking if they want their child to come back for a free class (it’s included with the Birthday party). There were bins set up for the birthday presents to go in. The kids are asked to take their shoes and socks off (to prevent slipping on some of the equipment) and the grown-ups are asked to take their shoes off but keep their socks on.
The party instructors led the kids into the gym area and showed them the equipment. There were things to climb on, slide down, jump, and balance on. My daughter especially loved the trampoline that was surrounded by padded mats. The party instructors showed the kids what they could do within each area. There were some organized activities, like skating across the floor on Frisbees, chasing bubbles,or throwing “snowballs” at each other in a civilized version of dodge ball. There was also some free play time.
They truly made Peyton the star of the day. She was pulled through the gym on the special “sled” followed by her friends chanting her name. She got to go first on the “Space Flight” (zip-line). The birthday girl even got a special seat when it came time to eat the pizza and of course we all sang “Happy Birthday” to her before she blew out the candles on her cake.

At the end of the party, after everyone got the goody bags, we were given all the gifts, all bagged up and ready to take to the car. They also gave me any of the left over pizza and soda from the party so that I could take it home. From start to finish, the staff at My Gym took care of everything. The staff was fantastic, not only with Peyton but with all the kids! Peyton had so much fun she didn’t want to leave. She can’t wait to go to the next “Parent’s Night Out” with a few of her friends.
Thank you My Gym, we had a great time!
