Smith Point Light Show Returns with New Displays Designed by Local Girl Scouts

Congrats Lori of Coram on winning the Smith Point Light Show giveaway!

Girl Scouts of Suffolk County and Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone invite Long Islanders to celebrate the holiday season with the return of the 17th Annual Smith Point Light Show at Smith Point County Park in Shirley. The drive-thru event, now open through December 30, will feature five brand-new illuminated holiday displays designed by local Girl Scouts to join the more than a mile-long attraction.

“We know that families are looking for safe ways to create special holiday memories together, so we are delighted that our event can do just that,” says Donna Smeland, Chair of the Board for Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. “We are also incredibly excited that for the first-time-ever, we have added displays designed by our very own Girl Scouts. This year seemed like the perfect opportunity to introduce Girl Scout-designed displays and add a little more magic and holiday cheer to the event.”

For Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, the Smith Point Light Show is more than a holiday attraction. The event serves as an essential fundraiser for the organization, with proceeds from ticket sales benefitting girl leadership programs and financial assistance for girls to join Girl Scouts or attend summer camp programs. This year, Girl Scouts of Suffolk County hopes that attendance will help offset a challenging financial year more than ever before.

The Smith Point Light Show is made possible by event sponsors, including Capital One Bank, Sunrise Wind, Flushing Bank, and PSEG-Long Island. Additional sponsors include Bethpage Federal Credit Union, WBLI 106.1FM/WBAB 102.3FM, Suffolk Federal, Nawrocki Smith, East/West Industries, IBEW Local 25, RNC Industries, South Shore Plumbing & Heating Inc., RWDSU Local 338, The Schaefer Agency, and Altice.

The light show is open nightly starting at 5:00pm, now through December 30, except for December 24-25. Tickets start at $22 per car for online purchases or $25 per car at the show’s entrance. No cash, credit card only, please.
