Description

West Meadow Beach

10am-12pm

What better way to celebrate Earth Week than with a habitat restoring native planting in an important coastal wetland that is ecologically connected to Long Island Sound? The Monarch Butterfly, along with many other pollinators, are losing habitat. During this lesson and activity, the stewards will learn about flowering plants that are native to Long Island, how to plant and care for them, and why encouraging our pollinators is so important.  This educational and hands-on program is designed to shape more resilient communities and is brought to you in part by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation with Long Island Sound Study.
