Earth Day Celebration (Port Jefferson Station) - Free
10:00 AM to 8:00 PM | Comsewogue Library

Celebrate Earth Day with us on Thursday, April 22 between 10am and 8pm. Visit our new Seed Library and grow with us! Help yourself to 3 free seed packets (while supplies last, with vegetable, flower and herb to choose from), many of which are compliments of AGWAY of Port Jefferson. You can also pick up a pack of indigenous seeds (corn, beans and squash). The ancient Native American technique of growing corn, beans and squash together in an arrangement called the Three Sisters is the ultimate in companion planting and helps increase harvests, naturally!

Green Business Partnership has recognized our Library as a leader in sustainable practices. We planted new trees on the property to celebrate this achievement as we rededicate ourselves to moving forward on a sustainable path, and to replace a tree we had to remove due to poor health. The new trees will provide shade, improve air quality, and further beautify our site.
